(This
introduction is by Coach Coons)
There has
always been some conflict between soccer
and football as we tend to compete for
the best athletes. Well every now and
then football wins, enter Matt Aldrich.
I remember
the first time I saw Matt last year at
the assessments for the youth football
program. Matt was a big boy that I had
never seen before and had no idea where
he had come from.
So I
immediately introduced myself and asked
Matt if he had played football before.
His answer was, "NO."
So my
second question was. "What have you been
doing?"
He told me
he had been playing soccer, but was just
getting too big for soccer.
Matt also
told me he got mostly A's in school and
I knew right there I had myself a
football player.
Matt has
excelled each year to the point that he
is a 7th grader that plays on the A team
to give some of the starters a rest.
Matt loves
the game of football and has set goals
for himself that will only make him
better.
OH Yeah,
by the way, Matt is the youngest player
on the team and will not be 13 until
July.
