Honor Roll

"Jeremy is a team captain and is a true leader on and off the field."

- Coach Coons

Jeremy Peavey is a Raymond resident who is making a big contribution to the Windham Middle School Football Team's undefeated season.

Coach Coons says about Jeremy, "As I have been fortunate to coach football in Windham for 5 years and have come to realize how important it is for us to have the athletes from Raymond play on our teams."

Like the pro athletes Jeremy and his teammates look up to, Jeremy understands the importance of taking care of your body before the grueling season begins. "..get your body in shape before the season starts."

And although Jeremy doesn't have a personal chef like the San Diego Chargers All Pro running back Ladainian Tomlinson, he makes sure he "eats a healthy breakfast filled with protein" to get ready for his duties as a Tight End and Corner Back for the Eagles.

"Jeremy is a two way starter and has been for the entire season." says Coons.

Jeremy doesn't just start on both sides of the ball,  he contributes regardless of what is asked of him.

Coach Coons tells us, "If I need someone to make a block to spring a big play I can count on Jeremy to make that block. He is also able to keep a defense honest because if they are not we will dump to him over the middle."

Coons adds, "Jeremy is a Raymond native that makes Windham sports better."

WSP: What is your favorite sport?

JEREMY: Football

WSP: When did you start playing football?

JEREMY: 6th Grade

WSP: What is your favorite thing about football?

JEREMY: Being a contributing member of a good team.

WSP: What is your least favorite thing about football?

JEREMY: Trying to juggle football with school

WSP: Did you know your team was going to be this good when the season started?

JEREMY: I didn't know my team was as good as they are because I had nothing to compare us to. We also had a new coach and more new players on the team than old ones.

WSP: What do you think is the biggest reason for your team's success this season?

JEREMY: The biggest reason, I believe this season has had success, is that the whole team has played with heart and Eagle pride. The coach has been great. He makes very good coaching decisions and during practice the issues we've had during the previous game are dealt with.

WSP: What advice would you give to the younger kids coming up through the youth football program?

JEREMY: Me best advice is get your body in shape during the off season. By doing this you are less likely to get hurt and you will be ahead of the game when the season starts.

WSP: What is your favorite activity outside of sports?

JEREMY: I really enjoy reading novels in a series when I'm not in sports.

WSP: What is your favorite subject in school?

JEREMY: My favorite subject in school is social studies because I like to learn about American History.

WSP: What is your least favorite subject in school?

JEREMY: English Language Arts is my least favorite because the teacher teaches us at a very high level.

WSP: Do you do anything outside of practice to prepare for football?

JEREMY: I eat a healthy breakfast, filled with protein. Times when I have had an injury, I will stretch daily.

WSP: Do you have any pre-game superstitions?

JEREMY: Yes, I don't go on any video games or the computer because I don't believe it will help put my mind in the game.
